my happy ending

OKAY SO

I’m gonna need to know how World War Two affected the Wizarding World.

Were there wizard corps in the army? Did the wizarding world have air raids? Evacuation of children? Rationing?

Why, I hear you ask?

Tom Riddle was born in 1929. He would have attended Hogwarts from 1940 to 1947. I’m imagining (since food is the first of the five Principal Exceptions to Gamp’s Law of Elemental Transfiguration) he would never have experienced a Hogwarts without rationing. Neither, for that matter, would have Hagrid (b. 1928, therefore attended Hogwarts 1939-46) or McGonagall (entered Hogwarts in 1938, so actually she would have had one year.)

What effect did this have on them? Did Riddle look at Muggle anti-Hitler propaganda and think ‘this guy has the right ideas but he’s too weak to finish the job?’ Does Hagrid look down at every meal from the high table and feel immense joy at how much all the children are eating? Did McGonagall use her animagus abilities to steal food and share it in the Gyrffindor common room?????

J.K. I need answers.
